21st November 1941 to 12th April 2025
Frank Nygryn, was born on the 21st of November 1941 in Prague, Czech Republic. He passed away on the 12th of April 2025 at the age of 83. A resilient and adventurous soul, Frank built a life of hard work, laughter, and enduring love.

Frank arrived in Australia in 1969 with his beloved wife, Zdena, forging a new beginning after leaving their homeland. Together, they shared 47 years of marriage until Zdena’s passing in 2013. In 2015, Frank found renewed joy with his loving partner, Alena, who brought companionship and warmth to his later years.
He is survived by his daughter, Sidonie Grove (Andrew Grove), and son, Francis Nygryn (Leah Nygryn), along with cherished grandsons Joshua and Matthew Grove. Frank will be missed by his younger brother, Karel (Karl) Nygryn.

For over 50 years, Frank owned and operated his trucking business, earning respect for his unwavering work ethic and pride in his craft. His hands were rarely still—whether rebuilding classic cars, tinkering with household projects, or perfecting his aim at target shooting. A globetrotter at heart, Frank explored diverse cultures and cuisines, savoring every adventure.

Frank’s storytelling captivated all who knew him, blending tales of life on the road with his signature cheeky humor and dad jokes. His homemade bar, a hub for camaraderie, echoed with clinking glasses and his favorite refrain: “Be good. And if you can’t be good, don’t get caught.” Whether sipping a cold beer, red wine, or his cherished “blue label” whiskey, Frank embraced life’s simple pleasures.

Frank’s indomitable spirit and zest for connection will be deeply missed. His legacy lives on in the memories of family, friends, and the countless lives he touched.

“The road was long, but the journey was never dull.”
